Greetings and thank you for your interest in being a part of the Three Lily Farm community. Our goal is to create a space for like minded individuals to come, be a part of nature and enjoy the bounty that the surrounding landscape provides us with each year.

Part of owning a home, growing your own food, and raising animals comes chores, lots of chores and projects. Over the past few years we have come to realize that having extra hands on the land assists us in getting projects done faster and is always more enjoyable when there are friends to help along the way. In the Three Lily Farm vision, the land is more and more of an educational resource for students to come forage and harvest, and create.

We are seeking responsible, caring, and self motivated individuals to give us a hand on the property. From everyday garden needs, painting, carpentry, or chopping wood, we want folks who are interested in being a part of the Three Lily community and don't mind a little hard work and play.

In exchange for your time and services, we will provide you with meals and a room & board. For those who love food, Chef Frank will be doing most of the cooking which usually ends up being everybody's highlight of their stay :)

While having your own car is a bonus, it is not essential, although we will ask that you make your way to Belfast or Bangor and we can pick you up from there. Weekly visits to town will give you an opportunity to check out midcoast Maine.

Depending on your length of stay, you may be staying in our communal guest cabin, or out on the land in a tent. We are currently planning on building a few tent platforms this year, so we will create cozy nooks in our forest for you to enjoy the stillness of Maine evenings. Our cabin is fully functional with internet, a small kitchen, and space to hang out.

Some of the perks of staying here in the warmer months is access to our spring fed pond and an abundance of fruit trees, especially the beloved mulberry tree which yields pounds and pounds or purple staining fruit!

Why do you want to come work at Three Lily Farm?

We are located in Thorndike, Maine. Would you travel here by vehicle?

What are your skills? For example, knowledge of plants, carpentry skills, etc. Essentially, what skills would you want us to know you have?

Can you handle physical labor? Do you have any physical issues that would prevent you from working?

Are you comfortable having a roommate in the cabin? (Not a requirement, from time to time there may be multiple interns here at the same time.)

Are you comfortable staying in an off-grid cabin with no running water? (Cabin is equipped with kitchen, cooking stove, outhouse, internet, etc.)

Are you comfortable staying in a tent with platform on the land with access to facilities?

Here at Three Lily Farm we have dinners together, are you comfortable feeding yourself for other meals with provided ingredients?

At some times projects on the land may seem dull and mundane, but are part of what goes into the overall vision here. Is this something you are comfortable with?
